(The night before I set out my morning items I would need. I also did all my measurements and picture that morning.) Excited to get started….the Ionix Supreme wasn’t bad…fruity. I have to not think about it while drinking but with time it is something I could really enjoy. I made my shake with blended ice because I’m a texture person and love a thick drink…only problem was it made a lot of drink so it took me awhile to finish it. Biggest challenge: making my boys their lunch knowing that I was having a shake. The shake is good..no grainy taste like others I’ve tried, but still a shake and not some chewy food;) I skipped the morning snack because I wasn’t hungry. I still wasn’t hungry at lunch but decided to take the shake because by 3pm I knew I would be starving;) Dinner was 2 natural uncured hot dogs (that were leftover from yesterday’s lunch) and a salad with sliced veggies on top.
I really like the shakes. I like to make them with ice and make them really thick;) One thing I’ve noticed is that since I do the shakes for breakfast and lunch by the time I get to dinner and have a real solid meal I have enjoyed my food more. The taste and texture are noticed and when I’m done with that I’m done and not looking for something more-and it’s only been 2 days! Usually, after dinner, I feel the need for something more- sugar or salt- it doesn’t seem to matter, just a little something. The last two days no snack hunger feelings after. For my meal I had some roast beef and asparagus with a mixed spring salad….actually I just threw it all together on top of the mixed greens and was good to go:) I printed off a schedule that came through an email from the person I bought from. I then laminated it so I could use it everyday. I used it to cross off, write down times for the cleanse days, kept track of my water and wrote down what I was going to eat for dinner. I’m visual so this is just another visual aid to help me through the day:)
My first cleanse day!! I thought I would be hungry but I wasn’t. I did have a time during my late afternoon (which is always my hunger time) that I wanted something more but really the schedule they keep you on is eating and drinking something all.the. time. Seriously, it almost gets to be a pain because of the constant eating/drinking but I get why it is scheduled that way…no time to be hungry. I’m not a fan of the “snacks” or the cleanse drink but they are both manageable. I did have a headache for most of the day, not a pounding, can’t do anything headache, but a constant annoying ache that would come and go depending on if I was actively doing something to forget about it;) Toward end of the day I knew I needed to get a way from the kitchen so I spent the time before bed taking a long bath and reading. I needed something to take my mind off of the food!
On the calendar that comes with the system it shows that today is the day I would weigh myself..or maybe it should have been yesterday? I wanted to wait until after the cleanse day. The scale was good! I was down 4lbs so…. I was really upset when the day continued and …….I ate 6 of my kids’ pizza rolls…I totally cheated! I just kept going back and thinking that was okay because I would skip my Isagenix snacks. I knew I was in a wrongful mind frame and I knew they weren’t a perfect switch in calories and nutrition. Good new is I caught myself and got back on track. I think not being hard on myself is good. Getting back on track right away is great. There would be times in the past where I would get off track and then I would think “oh well, I might as well just start over tomorrow, I already blew it and eat what I want today”. Also this day brought up a “potential to sabotage” event-as if I didn’t already do it by myself earlier;). I went out to eat with a friend. I went online and found the menu before hand and plotted out my meal:) It worked like a charm and I felt like I was back on track.
The mornings are always easiest for me. I did open the vanilla shake and found I’m not a fan of that. So I decided to do one scoop of chocolate and one of vanilla in hopes to use the vanilla up that way because I don’t think I can drink it straight..unless it grows on me which is a possibility. I have been known to turn up my nose in the beginning to a few things and after a week I think them so…… we will see because I have a whole canister and box of packets that will need to be used during the next couple of weeks!!
Today was probably the easiest day. Although, the roasted chicken my family had for lunch was smelling soooo good. I decided to keep mine for dinner. I had only one snack throughout the day because I wasn’t hungry and again after dinner I had a head ache not sure if it was weather related, water drinking or the salad dressing I had on my salad (it had sugar in it). Looking forward to my last day of the week tomorrow and checking out results!
Wow! I have done the system for one week! I will say I haven’t felt an energy boost and have been sluggish but it has only been one week. I do look forward to my morning shakes-even if I have to mix in the vanilla flavor;) The lunch shakes not so much….thinking I’m needing to chew something. I do enjoy the snacks and that helps a little. I really enjoy my dinner though. I forgot what really food tastes like and just the “taste” of it. It’s hard to explain unless you have been through a sugar cleansing anytime in your life but after that food always tastes so good..real food.
Now the results for the week…. After the cleanse day I had dropped 2lbs but they came back on the next day so I was a little bummed. I ended the week with a -3.6lb weight loss. I’m very happy with the results!
I like that number….let’s see what week 2 brings!
I have to laugh as I reread what I wrote down in my notes for each day because some days I was hungry and others I wasn’t, some days tired and others not. But I think that is also with everyday life so I’m taking it with a grain of salt and also my body is adjusting so I will see what the next couple of weeks bring;)
